Here are our top recommendations for things to do in Ibiza in the winter:

RURAL LIFE – Winter is probably the best time to discover the wide network of farmhouses and cottages of Ibiza, spread across its geography. Many of them develop farms and / or ecological farming, promoting the use and consumption of local, seasonal produce. Especially interesting are the traditional craft centers towns in the north, in the midst of pine forests that exemplify the island’s natural exuberance. The best way to see the inside of the White Island is through the many paths that cross fields and crops.

PHAENICIAN IBIZA – Did you know it was the Phoenicians who gave its actual name to the island? “Ibossim” already became an strategic point for this ancient civilization 3.000 years ago. A good example of this importance is the site of Sa Caleta in Sant Josep, where the Phoenicians first settled in Ibiza. A trail of archaeological remains dating from the 8th and 7th centuries b. C. And most important is the necropolis of Puig des Molins, the largest and best preserved in the world of the Phoenician era and incalculable historical value. Feel free to wander around this huge place, also a World Heritage Site, an area surrounded by olive trees which breathes only peace, and which houses some 3,500 hypogea or underground tombs and penetrate the ancient graves of early settlers of the island.

ALMOND BLOSSOMS – Yes, we know they are a classic, but for many, the almond blossom season is the most magical and special time of the year in Ibiza. These days do also bring the feeling of the close arrival of spring. The blossom season typically runs from early January to mid-February. You can see almond trees throughout the island, but the best place to admire them is in the valley of Santa Agnes de Corona, which is literally carpeted with white petals. And if you´re lucky enough to visit the valley on a clear full moon night we are sure you´ll never forget it.
IBIZA’S WINTER GASTRONOMY – From a gastronomic point of view, the fall and winter invite you to enjoy the hearty dishes of the cuisine of Ibiza. There are many restaurants offering many of them at this time of the year. These places deserve a tribute as, far from throwing in the towel in the lower season, they have managed to stay open all year giving us the opportunity to continue enjoying the island diverse and high quality products.

IBIZA’S WINTER SUNSETS – If you like to collect sunsets, around the coast of Ibiza you´ll find lighted postcards to keep in memory. Some of the most impressive can be lived here in winter when the silver sky plays with reflections, light and shadow, making it sometimes even more glorious. If we have to choose a few winter sunset spots we would surely bet for the one over the Salinas salt ponds, or the views from Es Savinar tower in cala d’Hort overlooking Es Vedra rock. Summer classics such as Cala Conte or San Antonio’s bay are magical too because you will surely see them completely alone from your watchtower.
