Where to Stay in Ibiza

For those who have never visited the white isle before, it can be challenging to choose where you'd like to stay. While where you decide to reside comes down to the type of Ibiza holiday you have in mind, nothing is too far away thanks to the size of the island. To make your decision a little easier, we've rounded up ten of the most popular areas in Ibiza and their highlights. From our favourite properties near Ibiza beaches to the lively location of playa den bossa, we’ll walk you through the prime locations of the white isle.

Benirras

While accommodation is limited in the beautiful Benirras beach, this bohemian hotspot makes for an excellent choice. Thanks to its laidback vibe, Benirras is often favoured by families or travellers looking to recharge.

Every Sunday, you can head down to the beachfront to experience Benirras’ iconic Sunday sunset ritual. As you look out toward the striking Cap Bernat with the orange sun burning behind it, you'll be bidding farewell to another special day on the island to the sound of hippie bongo drummers – it's a truly unique experience.

Cala Carbo

Cala Carbo is a sleepy little resort in the south-west of the island. What will soon become your very own paradise is home to a secluded beach, charming restaurants and slow-paced living, making it another good choice for families.

Cala Carbo beach is somewhat of a hidden gem on the island, offering a chic yet rustic island experience. Plus, with restaurants including La Mesa Escondida and Balneari serving up freshly caught fish and Mediterranean delights, you could easily spend your days here.

Cala Jondal

Another impressive beach resort is the picture-postcard Cala Jondal. The area of Cala Jondal is particularly popular with boat owners, drawing in a stylish crowd to the upmarket area.

The beautiful beach of Cala Jondal is surrounded by pines and jagged cliffs, making it a private haven for the entire family. Along the beachfront and in the surrounding area, you'll find high-end bars and estaurants as well as intimate chiringuitos favoured by the locals.

While there's a relaxed atmosphere, with Tropicana Beach Club and Blue Marlin close by, you won't be too far from the party. Plus, for the days you're out at sea, the beach clubs will bring the party to you as they deliver drinks directly to your boat.

Cala Tarida

Located along the south-west coast of Ibiza, Cala Tarida is home to beautiful sandy coves, crystal clear waters and fun for the entire family. As one of the most family-friendly resorts on the island, a stay in Cala Tarida will take you away from the hustle and bustle of the island for a relaxing getaway.

With a varied choice of kid-friendly restaurants such as Aisea and Ses Eufabies, Cotton Beach Club, and endless water sporting activities, Cala Tarida makes for an excellent choice for the entire family.

Es Cubells

Es Cubells is a charming and inviting village in the south-west of Ibiza. If you're looking to go off-grid, the sleepy village makes for an excellent location. As home to Platja des Jondal beach which is peppered with bars & boutiques and the sheltered cove of Sa Caleta, you'll be able to escape the crowds while enjoying the white sands and blue seas.

While Es Cubells is one of the quieter resorts on the island, you will find a couple of local bars and restaurants. Plus with Ibiza Town within easy reach, the lively side of the island isn't too far away.

Formentera

A visit to Ibiza isn't complete without taking a trip to Formentera. What's even better is choosing one of our luxurious villas on the island. Sitting just 30 minutes from Ibiza by boat, you'll enjoy slower-paced island life while being close enough to Ibiza to get in on the action.

Famed for its turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and salt flat nature reserves, you'll feel at one with nature in Formentera. While there's certainly a relaxed vibe on the island, you'll still enjoy the laidback Mediterranean nightlife, beach bars and high-end restaurants.

With restaurants such as 10 Punto 7, Kokoy by Hideki Matsuhisa and A Mi Manera, and seriously stunning beaches such as Cala Saona, Es Pujols and Playa de Illetes, you'll soon see why people fall in love with Ibiza's little sister.

Ibiza Town

The island's capital is an excellent choice for travellers interested in culture, incredible food, lively nightlife and family-friendly activities. The history-stepped Ibiza Town has plenty of pretty places to visit such as Dalt Vila, art galleries and museums. Plus, with a plethora of charming restaurants, welcoming bars, and the world-famous Pacha, Lio and Heart nightclubs, a lot is going on in Ibiza Town.

Just across the Marina, you'll find super-yachts, the neighbouring beach resort of Talamanca and some of the island's most excellent high-end restaurants.

Playa den Bossa

As the most popular holiday resort on the island, there’s a lot going on in Playa den Bossa. Home to lively beach bars, world-famous super clubs and plenty of bars and restaurants, if you’re looking to party, choosing a villa in close proximity to Playa den Bossa makes for an excellent choice.

Santa Eularia

The pretty town of Santa Eularia attracts visitors from all walks of life. Home to a chic marina, popular eateries and a wide sweeping beach, it's easy to see why Santa Eularia is one of the island's top picks.

As night falls, the Calle San Vincente in the centre of the resort transforms into a lively fiesta hotspot. Plus, with restaurants such as Chiringuito Blue, Nagai and Bambuddah to choose from, you'll be spoilt for choice.

Sant Josep

Sant Josep is a charming village in the west hill of Ibiza. Sitting among the foothills of Sa Talaia, the island's highest mountain, you can expect breathtaking scenery and plenty of attractions. While there's plenty going on, Sant Josep offers an atypical slice of traditional Ibizan life with 8 am church bells and a buzzing local scene.

Despite the fact the village is small, you'll enjoy a wide choice of restaurants and bars ranging from exclusive dining spots for traditional bars, plus a traditional weekend market.

As you soak up green hills in your rural surroundings offering perfect peace, Ibiza Town, Playa d'en Bossa and San Antonio can all be reached within 15 minutes, offering you a best of both worlds destination.

Sant Miguel

Another family favourite is the north coast town of Sant Miguel. The small village, which is home to sheltered beaches and picture-perfect scenery, is an excellent choice for travellers looking to appreciate the tranquil side of the island.

While Sant Miguel embodies slow-paced island life, you will find restaurants and bars lining the beach, including the famous Port Balansat, heralded by many as one of Ibiza's best fish restaurants.
