Before your next boat day, a few things worth getting right.
Five things to think about before you book
1. Check the weather. Ibiza's conditions can change quickly, especially outside peak summer. A calm morning doesn't guarantee a calm afternoon — check the forecast the night before and again first thing, and stay flexible on timing if the wind picks up.
2. Bring the fun. Not every boat comes stocked the same way — ask what water toys are actually on board. A paddleboard or an inflatable at the right cove turns a swim stop into the best part of the day.
3. Plan your lunch stop in advance. Good food, music, and sea views — that combination is what people remember most about a day at sea. The best beach clubs and chiringuitos fill up fast in high season, so book the table before you leave the marina, not once you're already anchored.
4. Choose your crew wisely. The right people make the adventure. A boat day has a way of surfacing everyone's true mood by hour three — pick company that matches the pace you actually want.
5. Plan your route with the Capitán, then leave room to wander. A loose plan beats a rigid one. Set the shape of the day together, but keep space for the cove nobody mentioned, the detour that wasn't on the list.

Amazona — the sporty one
The newest of the three (built mid-2022) and the quickest, with a top speed of 42 knots against the fleet's usual 30. Clean white-on-black styling, forward sun pads that stretch the full bow, and a fold-out aft platform built for swimming and toy time. If your day is less about lounging and more about covering distance — hitting two or three coves instead of one — Amazona is the one built for it
La Perla — the social one
Instantly recognisable by its burnt-orange upholstery, La Perla is the boat for a proper group day — the kind with a bottle of rosé at 11am and music before the anchor's even down. The aft sundeck is set up for exactly that: stretch out, face the sun, watch Ibiza Town slide past on the way out of the marina. Best with a full group who want the day to feel like a party, not just a swim.
Spartan — the refined one
Same bones as the other two, but with a navy-and-white interior that reads a little more grown-up — closer to a quiet dinner on deck than a day-party. Spartan tends to be the pick for couples or smaller groups who want the D50 experience without quite as much noise. The aft table seats comfortably for an on-board lunch, which suits its calmer personality.
Looking for something smaller? Meet the Donatello
If eleven guests is more boat than you need, the D32 Donatello is the one we point couples, families and small groups toward. Brand new for the 2025 season and just under 10 metres, it trades some of the D50's deck space for serious agility — its hidden outboard engines free up the entire bathing platform, and the compact hull can tuck into narrow coves the bigger boats simply can't reach. Two cabins, a full bathroom, and a convertible saloon mean it can even handle an overnight if the plan calls for it.
It's quick, too — 30 knots cruising, up to 50 knots flat out — which puts Formentera's Ses Illetes about 40 minutes from Marina Ibiza. For a day that's less about the group and more about the water itself, this is the boat.
