1. Talamanca Beach
A long, curved, soft sandy beach on the edge of Talamanca Bay, great for family bathing as the waters are close to the shore, safe, shallow, calm and clear, also a surprisingly quiet beach even in the height of the summer.
Talamanca bay is a beautiful area with cool boutiques and bars right next to the beach. There is a wooden boardwalk which spreads across the length of the beach which is ideal for a lazy walk. If you walk down to the end of the bay you’ll see the rockier and more romantic part of the coast. A great beach for city residents but families will also enjoy it here.
Location: Next to Ibiza Town.
Activities: Pedaloes.
Eating: Excellent restaurants and cafes line the boardwalk. With a wide choice of price ranges and menus they’ll be something for everyone.
2.Las Salinas Beach
Las Salinas is the place to be if you like to party.
Las Salinasis the most southern point on the island and the most popular beach with celebrities, in particular footballers, so if you are looking to celebrity spot then you must not give this a miss. The beach is extremely long and wide, with pale golden sand, clear blue sea and bordered by pine woods. The crystal clear sea is perfect for body-surfing when the super breakers appear on windy days, the sea is also quite salty which makes easy to float! The exclusive bars play music throughout the day, they will even serve cocktails right to your sun bed! Nudists, families, hippies and party goers dance and chill-out to the cool sounds. Surrounding the beach is Ibiza’s Wildlife Conservation Area which is perfect for adventure walks. If you are still itching to do something else, take a walk towards the watchtower. You may discover the small coves dotted along the rocky part of the coastline. As you can probably tell Salina has it all. A little word of advice, try to get there in the morning as the roads get busy in the afternoon, August is a incredibly busy time at Las Salinas.
Location: 10 minutes drive from Playa d’en Bossa or Ibiza Town.
Activities: Pedaloes, electro boats, catamaran rent, diving school.
Eating: A great choice of trendy restaurants, so if you’re on a budget your best option is to take a packed lunch or dine in the cafe bars along the road at the end of the beach.
3. Sa Caleta Beach
A beautiful scene, with red cliffs in the backdrop, this sandy beach with very shallow water has an excellent fish restaurant.
On entering it almost feels like stepping into another world, it’s extraordinary. It has soft golden sand, clear blue skies, sparkling sea and a rocky headland keeping Sa Caleta protected from the wind. Located to the east of Cala Jondal, it is ideal for families and younger children and snorkelers due to its shallow waters and particularly popular with local familes, young European couples and nudists. The beach is called Playa Es Bol Nou but you won´t find any signs to tell you this. The signs will read Sa Caleta which us the name of the restaurant on its cliff top. There are ancient Phoenician ruins which are worth a visit. Due to Sa Caleta’s protected position, it can get extremely hot and steamy with no breeze between 2pm and 5pm. So we would suggest going earlier or later. Also beware that it is often overcrowded in August, when Italian tourists make it their second home.
Location: 15 minutes drive from Ibiza Town or Playa d’en Bossa.
Activities: Relaxation!
Eating: Beach restaurant and bar called Sa Caleta serving excellent fish which is incredibly popular with the locals.
