Chamonix is a constant, cosmopolitan throng of activity, a delightful town providing incredible variety for the non-skier. The pedestrianised boutique shopping street is highly regarded. Wander through the pedestrianised heart of the town, down the cobbled streets, and discover superb boutique shops for fashion & interiors, designer brand shops, antique shops, art galleries & technical equipment stores.
Shop for 2010/2011 Winter season ski equipment, goggles, skis, ski boots, snow boards and ski wear, or grab some all year round outdoor hiking & treking gear.
Chamonix has many brand name shops including: Patagonia, The North Face, Technique Extreme, Peak Performance, Oxbow Chamonix Shop, Ogier Sports Chamonix, Icebreaker, La Canadienne, Furs and Leather, L'Insoumise Boutique & Chanel.
Chamonix also has a casino, cinema, library, art galleries, an Alpine museum, a geological exhibition, an ice rink and a bowling alley. Although we can arrange health & beauty treatments in your chalet, there is a leisure centre in central Chamonix, offering an indoor swimming pool, a childrens amusement pool with waterfall, river rapids, water jets and massages, 130m covered water slide, padding pool, solarium, solarium, jacuzzi, hamman and sauna.
You can go up to 3842m to check out the view at the Aguille de Midi, take a trip on the Mont Blanc tramway or visit Montenvers and the Mer de Glace on the train. At Montenvers you can visit the old hotel & museums up there, and also view the glaciers, and the skiers & boarders finishing the Vallee Blanche off piste ski run.
