Why We Love Spring in Chamonix
Springtime makes the Alps buzz… Skiing in a t-shirt, soaking up the warm sunshine and enjoying après drinks on the slopes. Here in Haute Savoie, we have added the luxury of glacier skiing in fantastic snow conditions right through till May. As the days lengthen, there’s a special “bonne ambience” in Chamonix and Verbier, with al fresco dining and outdoor après ski, on-mountain parties and leisurely alpine afternoons. Dynamic Lives are pleased to be part of the annual Boss des Bosses inter-resort freestyle skiing competition, held at Les Grands Montets on March 17. Dynamic Lives will run a delectable, smoking barbeque at the bottom of the (in)famous moguls racecourse – a great spot to catch the thrills and spills of the bump skiing warriors from Verbier, Val D’Isere, Meribel, Courchevel and Chamonix, not to mention their colourful supporters dancing to the mountain music. We know which team we’ll be cheering for! Just don’t spill your champagne.

W.O.W is the new “Ladies’ Day” of the Alpine ski world… Girls put down those manicure sets and make 9-11th April a date to be in Chamonix – for Europe’s inaugural “Women of Winter” - a white weekend action packed with snowboarding, skiing, pampering, photography, bonne mange, backcountry and touring clinics, freestyle lessons, ski and board tuning clinics, yoga & pilates, and a damned good party – just for the chicas!

Nostalgic for that Cham Jam party vibe from years ago? Well, hanker no longer: April 16 and 17 will be epic in Chamonix, with the après extravaganza known as Winter Sessions Weekender. With music on the mountain, après ski parties and art installations in the Rue des Moulins, this is the ideal time to get together a group of friends for a last blast ski-trip this winter. The Clubhouse
Boasting the comfort and elegance of a London member’s bar coupled with contemporary alpine style, The Clubhouse is the destination for those seeking a suave cocktail in a chic mountain setting. More than a pre-dinner venue, The Clubhouse has an excellent restaurant and regular cut-above entertainment including their legendary Pop Quiz (which Team Dynamic has won in recently), a snow barbeque on Thursdays, and guest djs like the Winter Sessions' own Uncle Joe from time to time. Rusticana
For those staying in Argentiere, The Rusty is well worth a visit. Newly renovated for the 09/10 season, this restaurant/bar caters well for families or groups of friends seeking a comfortable and stylish venue for apres-ski or dinner. Winter warmers like monster nachos and classic British fish and chips make up a hearty menu for hungry skiers. With regular live bands and slick bar staff, you might find yourself popping down the road to the Rusty a few times during your chalet holiday!

Another Argentiere institution is the timeless Savoy bar. The charming facade and rustic wooden decor provide an authentic mountain setting for your apres ski kir royale, vin chaud or frosty lager. Soak up the atmosphere and friendly combination of French, Swedish and Australian hospitality.

First snow of the season
Early October saw the first snow flurries swirling down the Chamonix valley, making us very excited about the upcoming winter.
A brisk Autumn is boding well for a big snow season, coupled with the old adage that if the Southern Hemisphere experiences an epic winter, then here on the opposite of the world we will have the same! Reports from New Zealand of bumper snowfalls in the ski resorts of Central Otago and the North Island have Chamonix saisonnaires looking to the skies with impatience.
