You can still get your adrenaline kicks in the Chamonix valley in summer as it is still one of Europe’s best sporting playgrounds at any time of year. It is increasingly renowned for its mountain biking, or VTT - Vélo tout-terrain as the French call it, as the different and varied terrains suit bikers of all levels. Whether you enjoy a leisurely cycle around some of the lower trails following the river on the valley floor, or a day's hardcore downhill mountain biking, Chamonix definitely has something to suit all tastes.

 Take advantage of the incredible warm summer thermals with a tandem Paraponting (Paragliding), or experience the rush of white water as the glacial melt water turns the Chamonix rivers into a torrent, either by rafting, canyoning, hydrospeed or kyaking. 

Chamonix is rightly famous for its shopping. Wander through the pedestrianised  heart of the town, down the cobbled streets, and discover superb boutique shops for fashion & interiors, designer brand shops, antique shops, art galleries & technical equipment stores.

150 years ago, the first intrepid Chamonix guides were leading their clients through the valley. Carry on the tradition as you discover the wonders of a randonee in the Haute Sauvoie. Seek out far horizons or simply embark on a short afternoon hike with one of our experts.

If you come to Chamonix in the summer you will discover that the Chamonix Valley possess one of the most complete, well sign-posted and well maintained network of mountain footpaths in the Alps. With over 600kms (400 miles) of marked trails in the valley, walking here can be as easy or as technical as you want it to be. There are low and high balcony routes to suit those of you that don't like to tough steep routes and also suitable routes if you are walking with children, as well as some truly challenging walking. You should try walking in the Aiguilles Rouges Nature Reserve, as the wildlife and scenery is really very special.

We can arrange a guide, recommend routes, make sure you have a gourmet picnic to enjoy, and pick you up at the end of the day. You can go up to 3842m to check out the view at the Aguille de Midi, take a trip on the Mont Blanc tramway or visit Montenvers and the Mer de Glace on the train. At Montenvers you can visit the old hotel & museums up there, and also view the glaciers converging at the base of the Vallee Blanche - in winter a famous off piste ski run

There are also some exhilarating day hikes for the relatively active walker. If you wish to venture into the high alpine environment and do some glacier walking on the Mer de Glace, then the mountain guides  will be able to advise you further.Or, if you don't fancy walking we could arrange a day pony trekking in the beautiful mountains and forests of the Chamonix valley.
