Our European client required a 10-day summer sales conference in the Mediterranean with accessibility to the major European centres enabling managers from over 19 countries to commute in only a few hours. The trip was split 60/40 in terms of work and team-building leisure time.
The guests were lodged in two rural boutique 4 star hotels (within 5 minutes of each other) in the north of the island, approximately 17km from Ibiza town. Located in a quiet part of the island with a swimming pool, beaches, biking and walking trails in and around the area gave them the perfect environment to obtain their goals.
Group size: 35
Trip length: 10 days, September 2002
Weather: 25 degrees on average.
The first five days of the trip where heavily focused on achieving work-related objectives, whilst ensuring the team spent some social time together. The selection, size and exclusivity of the two rural hotels we delivered provided the perfect environment to achieve this.
Lunches were served in the gardens around the main hotel. In the evenings we offered the group a selection of international cuisine at either of the hotels or some of the island's traditional local and international restaurants. Every evening we organised a different cuisine theme and style of dining.
Outside of the work time, wide variety of activities and events was available to the group (golf, beaches, biking, walking, scuba-diving): one highlight was a day trip to the outer islands of Ibiza (Formentera) on a grand old sailing boat. Lunch was served on the boat and there was the option of water-skiing, swimming and snorkeling or just relaxing in the sun enjoying the turquoise water and white sandy beaches. These sorts of physical activities that take people out of the norm are perfect ice breakers for team building and can be a great part of a corporate incentive holiday.
The MD commented at the completion of the trip: "It doesn't get much better than that; the way you combined work with activities, enabling us to stay as a team and achieve our objectives was fantastic. The added value and delivery comes from you and your team's personal involvement, energy and professionalism. Many thanks again!"
